How does the consultation work now?

Your emails will checked during the legal consultation hours on Monday between 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. and you will be called back by one of our lawyers.
Please note: this advice is provided as part of the legal advice of the AStA of the University of Münster. The advice is free of charge for you and you do not conclude a contract with the lawyers, so you do not become their "clients". You also cannot expect your email to be answered before the next legal advice hours. Please consider this point if your matter is urgent.
After the consultation your email will be deleted. Be sure, the legal advice is absolutely confidential.
As part of the legal advice, advice is given in student matters, e.g. in questions about BAföG or about tenancy, accommodation, exam and labor law.
This form of legal advice is also new to us. We are therefore evaluating how things are going and will continuously improve the process.
AStA’s legal advice service is free of charge. The advisory service prioritizes primarily legal issues regarding rent, alimonies, exams and work. A registration beforehand is not necessary. The lawyers are not reachable at AStA over the phone! Often, only a few meetings with the lawyers or a short letter is necessary to resolve the issue. Nevertheless, in some more severe cases, a lawsuit cannot be avoided. In these cases, AStA supports the students by offering them legal protection in their individual cases.
